Weapon locks
A physical weapon lock (a tag, pin, or block) prevents your weapon from spinning while you handle the bot. Lock it any time the bot is powered and you're touching it. No exceptions.
Non-negotiable
Combat robots are real machines with real risks — mostly from spinning weapons and LiPo batteries. Read this before you build, and re-read it before every event.

Weapons only spin inside an arena or an approved test box with a tethered controller and a clear safety perimeter. Spinning a weapon on your bench can — and does — cause severe injury.
Puffy packs, hot cells, visible damage, voltages below 3.0V/cell, or any smell of chemicals = immediate retirement. Do not charge, do not use, do not throw in the trash.
Charge in a LiPo-safe bag or ammo can, on a non-flammable surface, attended. Store at storage voltage (~3.8V/cell), cool and dry. Never charge overnight or unattended.
Quarantine in a metal container outside or in a safe area. Discharge per manufacturer guidance, then dispose at a battery recycler. Never puncture, never submerge in saltwater unless trained.
Eye protection in the pits. Bots stay locked. Power tools get respect. Keep walkways clear. If you see something unsafe, say something — pit crews are happy to help.
Show up early. Pass safety inspection. Follow EOs (Event Officials) without argument. Cheer for opponents. Help newer builders. Leave the venue cleaner than you found it.
When in doubt — ask a mentor before powering on.
The Guild crew is always happy to walk you through your first power-up.
